PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gathering business requirements
- Organising workshops and presentations
- Business (Domain) modelling using UML
- Use Case model / User stories generation and OO Analysis using UML
- Expansion of high level use cases into low level use cases
- Functional specifications for certain projects not using use cases/OO methodology
- Translation of business requirements to software developers and vice-versa
- Managing change to/of requirements
- Monitoring development to ensure it meets requirements
- Participate in estimation and prioritisation processes
- Awareness of methodologies such as DSDM, Agile Methodology, RUP etc.
People Management
- Client facing capabilities
- Act as guide to junior systems analysts on projects
- Capability to communicate with software developers.
Reporting & Financial Responsibilities
- Report to Project and Account Managers on projects
- Report to Head, TSI for non-project matters.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications/Skills
- Graduation with preferably, a certification of OO Analysis and Design
- Management Skills
- 4+ years experience of which at least 2 years in requirements gathering, systems analysis and design (preferably OO)
- Experience of Use Case driven development, at least 1 year.
- Equally effective skills in communication (verbal and written) with business/clients and software developers
- The ability to prioritise a complex workload
- Experience of client inter-action
- Knowledge of functional areas of businesses
- Technical Skills
- OO Analysis and Design
- UML
- Understanding of complex Development Methodologies (such as DSDM, XP, RAD etc).
- Knowledge of UML tools such as Rational Rose, Together J etc.
- Ideally has knowledge of programming in an OO language in order to facilitate communication with developers
- Storyboarding & business process mapping.
