AGILISYS ANNOUNCES 55 NEW JOBS FOR CUMBRIA

June 11, 2009

Agilisys creates 55 new jobs at their Customer Services Centre in Barrow-in-Furness

Agilisys, the UK’s most innovative IT and business process service provider, today announced that it has brought 55 new jobs to the Cumbria region in their Barrow-in-Furness customer services centre.

Agilisys’ contact centre operations in Barrow-in-Furness and Rochdale support both public and private sector clients with a range of inbound and outbound customer services. The Barrow-in-Furness centre was established in late 2005 following a successful bid by Cumbria County Council and Agilisys to provide the Office of Fair Trading’s (OFT) Consumer Direct Northwest service.

Agilisys and Cumbria County Council entered into a 7-year partnership in 2005 as a result of the Council’s vision to provide improved services to citizens through innovative and efficient means. Agilisys provides a full range of ICT, transformation and customer services to the Council in addition to the benefits brought to the region as a whole through job creation.

Agilisys has continued to expand operations in Barrow-in-Furness, creating hundreds of jobs providing services to both public and private sector clients.

Jim Savege, Director of Organisational Development at Cumbria County Council, said: “New jobs being created in the county is always good news for Cumbria. The people working in these new jobs won’t be servicing Cumbria County Council, but the fact they are here in Cumbria has been made possible thanks to the foundations laid down by Agilisys and the County Council. We welcome the continued investment into the area by Agilisys in parallel to their role in providing ICT services to the Council.”

Kay Andrews, Agilisys CEO adds “This is a fantastic example of the benefits Agilisys can bring to a partnership through our regional delivery model. We have brought hundreds of jobs to Cumbria, and are working together with the Council and with our private sector clients to transform services for millions of people across the UK.”

Tom Campbell, Barrow Borough Council CEO concluded: “The Borough Council is delighted to work closely with Agilisys and help them expand their operation in Barrow. We are very excited about the additional jobs in Craven House. Agilisys offers exactly the right kind of employment to help us diversify our economic base and we wish them every success in the future.”
