AGILISYS JV PLANS MAJOR EXPANSION OF BARKING CONTACT CENTRE

Local services provider to recruit and train more than 20 advisors from the borough
 
Elevate East London LLP (Elevate), the innovative joint venture between IT and business services provider Agilisys and Barking and Dagenham Council, today announced plans to significantly expand their Barking-based contact centre, as part of the company’s commitment to fostering opportunity and creating jobs in the borough. The company has already started recruiting locally for more than 20 advisor positions, including apprenticeships, and aims to have the new hires in place by January 2012.

After receiving training provided by Elevate, the new hires will deliver customer contact services to support increased demand from Agilisys’ wide range of clients across the public and private sector. They will also bring additional inbound and online customer service capacity, joining the 50 advisors already in the centre who deliver a range of customer services for local residents on behalf of the council.

Cllr Cameron Geddes, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “This is a further example of Barking and Dagenham truly being London’s newest opportunity; coming so soon after the launch of the Agilisys-managed Barking Enterprise Centre, I’m very pleased to see that in less than a year our Elevate East London partnership is a firm and growing part of the local community, increasing opportunities for local people.”

This is only a start, as we have clear plans to expand the centre further, taking on additional clients and therefore additional advisors over the next year and beyond.”
