Barrow-in-Furness and Weston-super-Mare to gain more than 100 jobs

Agilisys, one of the UK’s most innovative IT and business services providers, today announced they have begun recruiting 115 new advisors for their Cumbria and North Somerset-based customer services centres. The new jobs come as a result of the company’s recent contract signing with Citizens Advice for a multi-year strategic partnership to deliver national consumer advice services on behalf of the charity from a number of centres across England and Wales. Recruitment will continue through the year, and training for the first intake of new advisors begins next week, in advance of the full service starting in April 2012.
 
One of the key benefits Agilisys brings Citizens Advice is a high level of consistency with the new service, due to the company’s long history of providing customer services through multiple channels to citizens nationwide from dedicated contact centres across the UK, including Barrow, which has been delivering the regional Consumer Direct service for several years.
 
Agilisys CEO Kay Andrews said: “We’re delighted to be able to expand our offering in Cumbria and North Somerset, bringing new jobs to the area, adding to the several hundred roles we have created across the UK since our company’s founding nearly 15 years ago. This win, following on from our recent announcement of new contact centre roles in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, is testament to the high skill level of the outstanding teams already in place, Agilisys’ strong heritage in providing customer services to citizens across the UK, as well as our on-going investment in expanding customer services team and capabilities.”
 
Cllr Nigel Ashton, Leader of North Somerset Council added: “This is excellent news for Weston and North Somerset, creating more local employment opportunities and bringing services together under one roof. It is an important early success story from our partnership with Agilisys.”
 
Agilisys will be working in liaison with Citizens Advice Scotland to provide a full service across Great Britain for consumers in England, Wales and Scotland.
