Agilisys co-founder speaks at North Somerset event to showcase economic and social value of apprenticeships

Agilisys, one of the UK’s most innovative IT and business services providers, today announced it will be taking part in an event Thursday 9 February in Weston-super-Mare to showcase the benefit of apprenticeships to local businesses. For several years now, Agilisys has employed apprentices across the country with successful placements in the company’s partnerships with Barking and Dagenham, Rochdale and North Somerset Councils among others, and is proud to champion the career route as an effective way of training the next generation of highly skilled workers.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Agilisys will be working with North Somerset Council to promote the value of apprenticeships to local businesses. Agilisys co-founder, Manoj Badale is speaking at the event, highlighting apprenticeships and the potential benefits they can bring to organisations. The local businesses will also be offered guidance and support during the event.

Agilisys works closely with its partnerships and clients across the UK to take on local apprentices, bringing training and skills to local communities. As well as allowing the company to give something back to the local economy, apprenticeships help Agilisys to ensure that much needed skills are available to the business today as well as in the future.

Agilisys CEO Kay Andrews said: “Agilisys is committed to offering apprentices opportunities across our business, including within partnerships such as the one we have with North Somerset Council. As an innovative company, we especially value the new ways of thinking and creative ideas apprentices bring, and are regularly impressed not only by their enthusiasm, but also the impact they deliver. This is why we are pleased to support our partner, North Somerset council, during national apprenticeship week and hope that many more organisations get involved with this worthwhile scheme.

Judy Butler, Head of Learning & Development at Agilisys added "We’re delighted to be helping to drive economic growth through the Apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships are a vocational learning platform that is increasingly being seen as the key to sustainable economic growth and a preferred alternative to expensive academic study. The apprenticeship scheme is good for young people, our business and the community’’
