Bridge Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To undertake inspections, assessments, design and construction supervision in connection with Bridges and Highway Structures. To assist with the management Highway structural assets in accordance with “Management of Highway Structures, a Code of Practice” and all relevant policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing structural calculations in accordance with relevant standards.
Preparing drawings and contract documents.
Supervision of works on site.
Inspection of Bridges and Highway Structures.
Preparation of reports.
Working within budgets and managing project costs.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes
Develop and maintain effective team working across Highways & Engineering and other areas of Impact Partnership and Mouchel Group.
Undertake training and personal development as required by the role
Contribute towards the vision, values aims and objectives of the Impact Partnership

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent appropriate qualification
Demonstration of commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

Knowledge

Broad understanding of the principles of Structural Engineering
Awareness of issues related to the management of Highway Structures
Awareness of the issues and processes within area of business
Knowledge of aspects of legislative compliance, Health & Safety and Environment
Awareness of topical Political and Local Government issues.
