Finance Project Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

At Agilisys, Project Managers are part of an integrated Project Management team working on a wide range of projects and technologies, in a dynamic environment. You will be a manager with extensive consulting experience, preferably within a Project Management role involved in financial application implementations or migrations. You will lead one or more potential engagements in the UK for a number of consultancy and technical opportunities. You will be focused on providing new and innovative solutions for some of the largest clients in the UK. The role is focused on managing the entire programme lifecycle, from developing a business strategy, to overseeing implementation, optimisation and review, for a financial application implementation or migration project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General
  • Define, document, plan and execute multiple simultaneous projects
  • Estimate and monitors costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of multiple projects
  • Prepare and maintain realistic project plans and track all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to internal/client senior management
  • Manage the change control procedure
  • Identify, assess and manage risks & issues
  • Successfully deliver project (s) to budget & schedule
  • Provide effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience

 

Specific to this appointment (Finance)
  • Ensure project mandate, project brief and project initiation documents reflect all business and legislative requirements for a financial management system
  • Manage the implementation/migration of a financial solution
  • Manage the rollout of the selected solution to end users
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of a training programme for both development/support staff and users of the selected solution
  • Manage integration of the selected solution with existing applications, as may be defined within the scope of the project

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge
  • At least 5 years work experience in Project Management
  • At least 3 years within an enterprise system implementation environment
  • Experience in supporting senior management in their relationships with key clients and partner organisations or as the primary contact for customer relationships
  • Experience of more than one Project Management method, including at least PRINCE2
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and MS Project
  • Experience at a senior project management level in at least one previous implementation or migration of a major financial application (e.g. Oracle to SAP)
  • Experience of at least one financial lifecycle
  • Familiarity with financial practices in medium to large organisations
  • A clear understanding of the functions of major financial modules, e.g. AP, AR, GL, PO.
  • Experience or familiarity of working with at least one market leading financial application

LOCATION: London based with a requirement for travel
