Finance Systems Consultant

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Due to previous successes, we have significant growth in our need for Financial Systems/ (Accounting ERP) Consultants. The purpose of this role is to lead greenfield implementations in both the private and public sector as a Principle Consultant or Programme Manager. We are looking for versatile consultants who want to forge partnerships with their clients and influence Agilisys’ growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General
  • Define, document, plan and execute multiple simultaneous projects
  • Estimate and monitors costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of multiple projects
  • Prepare and maintain realistic project plans and track all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to internal/client senior management
  • Manage the change control procedure
  • Identify, assess and manage risks & issues
  • Successfully deliver project (s) to budget & schedule
  • Provide effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.

 

Specific to this appointment (Finance)
  • Ensure project mandate, project brief and project initiation documents reflect all business and legislative requirements for a financial management system
  • Manage the implementation/migration of a financial solution
  • Manage the rollout of the selected solution to end users
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of a training programme for both development/support staff and users of the selected solution
  • Manage integration of the selected solution with existing applications, as may be defined within the scope of the project.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

General
  • At least 5 years work experience as senior consultant/project manager.
  • At least 3 years within an enterprise system implementation environment
  • Experience in supporting senior management in their relationships with key clients and partner organisations or as the primary contact for customer relationships
  • Experience of more than one Project Management method, including at least PRINCE2
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and MS Project.

 

Specific to this appointment (Finance)
  • High Level Consulting experience in at least one previous implementation or migration of a major financial application (e.g. Oracle to SAP)
  • Experience of at least one financial lifecycle
  • Familiarity with financial practices in medium to large organisations
  • A detailed understanding of the processes associated with major financial modules, e.g. AP, AR, GL, PO.
  • Experience or familiarity of working with at least one market leading financial application
  • (Desirable) Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant.
  • Is able to immediately implement a project structure and define key roles and clear responsibilities for all project team members
  • Is able to work in an environment with a clear framework of accountability and substantial personal responsibility
  • Is able to influence team and specialist peers internally, suppliers and customers at account level.
  • Is able to make decisions that influence the success of project(s) and company objectives
  • Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Communicates fluently orally and in writing and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Is able to absorb rapidly new technical information and apply it effectively.
  • Good appreciation of wider field of information systems and how it relates to the business activities of the company or client.
  • Maintains awareness of developing technologies and their application
  • Takes responsibility for driving their own personal development.
