H&F Residents Online Parking Permit Renewals developed in partnership with Agilisys wins Government Computing’s ‘Government to Citizen’ Award

Agilisys, the UK’s most innovative IT and business process service provider, is delighted to announce that Hammersmith & Fulham’s Residents Online Parking Permit Renewals project delivered in partnership with Agilisys has won a prestigious national award from Government Computing. The ‘Best Project – Government to Citizen’ category in Government Computing’s Awards for Innovation was presented to Hammersmith & Fulham by Michael White, the assistant editor and political columnist for The Guardian at a gala dinner in London on April 24th.

The Online Parking Permit Renewals provides residents with a customer friendly self-service option to renew their parking permits over the web, the first time this has been done by a UK Local Authority. Before the implementation of the new online service, residents had to go to the Council in person each year to renew permits and prove their identity.

Claire Conaghan, Interim Service Director at H&F Bridge Partnership, the joint venture between Agilisys and H&F, commented “One of the main challenges we faced was the risk of fraudulent use. We have been able to address this through the Client Index which was implemented by Agilisys 2 years ago. The Client Index takes resident information from 8 different business areas around the council, matches the information and provides the Council with a single customer record. This means we can verify residents’ identities much more easily.”

The benefits on the new online system include significant efficiencies for the Council by reducing the cost of face to face interactions with each resident renewing their permit, and providing an improved customer experience for residents.

Alan Titheridge, the H&F Partnership Director for Agilisys commented “Our goal is to deliver the best possible solution to our clients, and to help them improve the services they provide to their citizens. We’re delighted to have won this award for our work which demonstrates that we have delivered not only an improved service for residents, but also significant savings for the Council.“
