PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To raise the profile of the Impact Partnership within local, stakeholder and specialist media sectors, and develop Impact’s reputation as a provider of professional property, highways and business services to the public sector and a trusted partner to Rochdale council.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on external communications and marketing activities generally
- Responsible jointly with Business Development Director for Marketing & Communications strategy
- Responsible for proactive news programme and provide a supporting role to the council’s media desk for reactive media enquiries.
- Lead on branding, collateral, graphics, awards, events, web & sponsorship activities.
- Responsible for print and stock management, photography, and supporting role in events.
- Prepare communication plans and reports.
- Assist in Business Development activities including the development of collateral, and supporting the preparation of bid documentation such as branding and design requirements.
- Liaise with the council and private partners communications teams to ensure a joined-up approach to communications exists (i.e. account manage communication contacts).
- Develop the people resources and talent within Impact helping towards improving the importance and effectiveness of communications.
- Contribute towards the vision, values, aims and objectives of the Impact Partnership
- Any other duties commensurate with the post.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified preferable (or working towards)
Knowledge
- Awareness of Marketing & Communications and PR practices
- Building media relations with press sectors, including local.
- Working on variety of printed and electronic media, events, direct marketing, awards,
- Knowledge all aspects of legislative compliance, including employment law, Health & Safety and Environment
- Awareness of political issues in both central and local Government beneficial.
Experience
- Marketing & Communications (or journalist) background in either public or private sector, with focus of PR
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of communication tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly literate
- Ability to multi-task
