Agilisys and Barking & Dagenham Council Expand Local JV
Additional services transfer into Elevate East London, generating increased efficiencies while protecting frontline staff
Agilisys, one of the UK’s most innovative IT and business services providers today announced that several Barking & Dagenham Council services, including HR and Payroll transactional services along with elements of the Assets and Commercial Services division will transfer into Elevate East London, the company’s successful joint venture with the council. This transfer of services will bring significant year-on-year savings for the council as well as improvements to these services, while protecting frontline services for residents.
The move will see a total of 71 council staff TUPE transfer into Elevate in two phases, with 35 from HR and Payroll transferring today, and the remaining 36 joining the partnership on 1 April. As part of the expansion, Sue Lees, currently the council’s Divisional Director of Assets and Commercial Services will also transfer into Elevate on 1 March as its new Chief Executive. Following her transfer, the vacated Divisional Director post will be deleted, releasing additional management savings for the council.
Of the expansion, Lees said, ‘I’m delighted to be joining Elevate at this stage of the venture. The company was established to transform services to citizens while delivering not only savings but also economic growth within the borough – objectives that the organisation has already begun to deliver since its creation in late 2010. The addition of these new services into the partnership will create even more efficiencies, and I look forward to leading Elevate East London to deliver continued improvements for the council and its residents.’
Cllr John White, Cabinet Member for Customer Services and Human Resources at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham comments: “Elevate’s growth is another example of how the Council continues to take the lead on transforming services so residents continue to get the excellent services they deserve and rightfully expect. Agilisys has already shown itself to be a major partner in Barking and Dagenham, bringing new jobs and opportunities to the borough over the past year, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to keep creating the right economic environment for ongoing development.”
Agilisys CEO Kay Andrews added, “Agilisys is proud to have worked so closely with the council to establish Elevate East London as a strong contributor not only to meeting the council’s efficiency targets, but also to the borough’s economic growth. This expansion of the partnership is testament to the great work done over the past year by the Elevate staff who are passionate about delivering high quality services to the council and its residents, and Agilisys looks forward to continued partnership working as we further develop Elevate as a centre of excellence in East London.”
