Kent County Council has received a maximum award rating of four stars for its online library services in recently announced SOCITM Better Connected 2016/17 results thanks to the work of the Agilisys Digital Services team in Kent.
SOCITM’s national survey of council websites is published annually and analyses digital performance in public sector services. The libraries task ‘sign up for e-resources’ recognised the clarity of language used on the council’s site, its adaptability to mobile devices and how easily the information can be found via external search engines.
The Agilisys team at Kent County Council adopts a customer-first approach to content design and working closely with other council services such as Libraries, they make sure the content is accurate so that residents can do what they need to do as quickly and easily as possible.
Agilisys was selected by Kent County Council in December 2015 to run the council’s Digital Services team and Contact Point. Kent was in the top 19% of websites to receive four stars for its libraries section and was one of only four councils to be mentioned on SOCITM’s recommended sites.
Jen Hickey, Agilisys Senior Digital Content Officer at Kent County Council, said: “This is fantastic news to kick off 2017. We’ve spent a lot of time perfecting the content design, in response to feedback we’ve received from Kent residents, to ensure that the libraries pages are updated regularly on kent.gov.uk. We’re delighted to have received this award and look forward to SOCITM’s future testing.”
Ashley Bryant, Director of Customer Service at Agilisys, added: “We are delighted that SOCITM has once again recommended the site and awarded it four stars for this service. The Agilisys Digital team in Kent County Council work really hard to ensure there is continuous improvement across all areas and this acknowledges the great work they do – congratulations to everyone involved.”
