NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL SELECTS AGILISYS TO DELIVER SERVICES IN £85M CONTRACT

Partnership with Agilisys set to deliver annual savings of £13m per annum for the Council over 10 years
 
Agilisys, the UK’s most innovative IT services and outsourcing provider, today announced that North Somerset Council has approved the recommendation to award a 10-year £85m Strategic Partnership to Agilisys in a meeting of Full Council on Thursday August 5th. Agilisys will be working together with partner Liberata, which has been providing services for North Somerset for the past 14 years.

The contract award is subject to the successful completion of due diligence and contract formalities, which are anticipated to be complete by August 26th, with services expected to start in October 2010.

Over the course of the 10-year contract Agilisys and its partner Liberata will be delivering a full range of Services including Customer Services, ICT, Revenues & Benefits and other transactional services, Facilities Management, Business Improvement and Procurement.

The Agilisys partnership will transform services through innovative and efficient IT solutions, not only improving customer satisfaction, but also delivering savings for the Council of £16.4m. When savings from improved procurement and the business improvement programme are taken into account, the Agilisys partnership will deliver £13m per annum savings against existing budgets.

Council Leader, Cllr Nigel Ashton, said: "They will be making significant investments of around £4 million in programmes to replace the financial management system and also in a system to manage electronic data and records.

"I hope we can also dispel the myth that outsourcing means the loss of jobs - I am quite clear that awarding this contract will lead to no net loss of jobs. This deal will save taxpayers millions of pounds while at the same time helping to protect jobs and services in North Somerset."
