PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
At Agilisys Project Managers are part of an integrated Project Management team working on a wide range of projects and technologies, in a dynamic environment. Focusing heavily on delivering technical solutions to a wide range of clients you will be experienced in DSDM and XP-style development methods and be adept at applying a firm Project Management method to it: managing the collaboration with the development teams and the Client etc. You will be a Technical Project Manager, preferably from a coding background, although this is not vital and have a strong understanding of OO Analysis and Design concepts. You will have an awareness of new technologies and tools and will, if possible, have worked within a software house or development group of a consultancy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and initiates multiple, simultaneous projects
- Pulls together work orders under the guidance of the Programme Manager
- Manages the contract from a project delivery perspective
- Successful execution of multi-disciplined projects independently to time and budget, meeting customers’ requirements
- Track projects progress and communicate effectively with the team
- Manage the collaboration between the Client and development teams
- Provide both internal and external reports on project tracking and progress
- Plan and co-ordinate activities, addressing scope or budget issues and ensuring the allocation of sufficient resources for project success
- Recognise issues in the project and provide solutions
- Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation plans
- Manage customer relationship on a day-to-day basis for the project
- Keep abreast of current issues, practices and new trends in business, software and related fields
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge
- At least 3 years work experience in Technical Project Management
- At least 2 years within a software development environment
- Experience in assisting the Programme Management in proposals and presentations
- Experience of working within an XP/DSDM environment
- Experience of more than one Project Management method
- Experience or familiarity of working with OO concepts in Analysis and Design
- Familiarity with Project Management tools such as MS Project and Tracking Tools such as Jira/Bugzilla
