As part of the Agilisys Application Services Community, you will work in a system integration/solution project team to investigate feasible technical options, develop, design and implement technical solutions to support the wider business goals. You will bring specialist experience and skills to the team, specifically SQL Server.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The specification, design and maintenance of structures for information storage and access to support business information needs.
- The management of resources in order to plan, estimate and carry out programmes of systems development work to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards.
- The design, creation, testing and documenting of new and amended programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards.
- The management and provision of expert advice on SQL Server and SQL DBA activities.
- Work with the project manager, solution architects, third party suppliers and other stakeholders to assemble project plans and deliverables including time & cost estimations to deliver the solution
- Provide technical risk assessment of the project & solution and help design risk mitigation strategies
- Provide suitable documentation and guidance to project and support teams including solutions architects, system configuration teams, testing teams and other stakeholders.
- Ensure overall quality control
- Engage with and sustain a good working relationship with key customer and 3rd party representatives
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge
- Minimum of 3-4 years with the SQL Server Platform
- Minimum of 1.5 years experience in SQL Server DBA activities
- Minimum of 2 years SQL Server development
- Minimum of 1 year Oracle or Sybase Database Administration or development
- Windows 2000 \ 2003
- High degree of computer literacy
Skills
- Experience in using integration technology/solutions
- Procedures, Functions, DTS Packages
- Handling database releases across multiple environments
Optional
- Working knowledge of data access layer technologies (i.e. C#)
- Knowledge of XML / XSLT
- A good understanding of the document generation solution such as Adobe tools that can take data in XML format and generate PDF documents
Qualifications
- University degree, 2:1 or higher
- SQL Server training

- Logical, and able to work though problems in a methodical manner.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- A flexible approach to travel and working hours is essential, as overnight stays away from home will be a feature of this role
