Agilisys’ Pledge raises the roof for Autism Guernsey

Agilisys was delighted to support the recent ‘Día de los Muertos’ charity ball in aid of Autism Guernsey.

Organised by Guernsey residents Claire Wakefield and Nadia Newton, the spectacular event was themed on the two day Mexican festival, which is a celebration of both life and death.

The Dave Ferguson Hall at the island's Beau Sejour leisure centre was transformed with design support from The Potting Shed to welcome over 400 guests to a dazzling street carnival featuring live music from local artists Last of the Light Brigade alongside world renowned band The Mariachis. Other entertainment was provided by dancers from the Senior Avril Earl Group and Performers Jersey, with fire and LED performances from FireFX.

Claire Wakefield said “Thanks to the support of our main sponsor Agilisys and the generosity of our guests we exceeded our target for the event and raised over £25,000 on the night for our chosen charity Autism Guernsey. We expect this sum to grow over the next year thanks to Agilisys’ innovative ‘Pledge’ initiative.”

Richard Hanrahan from Agilisys commented “Wherever we work we strive to become an integral part of the community we serve, so it was a real privilege to take part in the Día de los Muertos charity ball.  Claire and Nadia put together such a fantastic event and we wanted to help take that energy and enthusiasm forward. The Agilisys Pledge is a simple way for anyone to commit to do something to raise funds or support Autism Guernsey over the next year. Whatever your forte, baking cakes for a coffee morning, taking part in a sporting challenge or giving a day of your time to help an Autistic child, our aim is for everyone’s pledges to increase awareness and develop new connections which benefit Autism Guernsey on an ongoing basis.”
