Elevate East London and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council teams have been awarded top place at this year’s Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation Awards, highlighting their Excellence in Partnership Working.
This is the third time Elevate have featured in the awards and is testament to the fantastic work the Elevate team are doing in partnership with the council. A true joint venture with digital transformation partner Agilisys, Elevate was formed in 2010 and has since then been delivering transformative services to support the local authority’s vision of a modernised council, ensuring all residents are supported in the right way at the right time.
Chief Executive at Elevate East London, Sue Lees comments; “The work we have been doing in partnership with the council in creating the Homes and Money Hub has had a direct impact on the lives of many of the most vulnerable residents in our Borough. Together we are making sure that we can support our residents to understand their budgets are able to pay their bills, secure accommodation and employment, and create family stability. We see every day the impact this is having through genuine partnership working not only between Elevate and the council, but also with our Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau and other voluntary sector partners. We hope other areas can replicate what we have done here.’
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “The role of the service within the council is to enable and empower our residents to take control of their lives, even when at their most vulnerable. Working collaboratively with our residents means we can tailor our support to their specific needs, and make sure that they can make sustainable changes to their lives. Ultimately this means they are able to help themselves and rely less on the council which is a win-win for everyone.”
